1. What devices does the Nikkei Asia app work on?


The Nikkei Asia app is designed to work with iOS and Android devices.


Software requirements:

Currently available for iOS 12+ and Android 6.0+



2. How do I download the app?

3. Do I need to pay for the app?


Our app is available to download for free. However, a paid subscription is required for full access.


If you are already a Nikkei Asia subscriber, simply sign in to enjoy unlimited access. (See No. 4, “I have a Digital Subscription for Nikkei Asia. How do I sign in to the app?”)


There are two ways to subscribe:

1. Through the website. You can sign in to the app using the website ID (email address) and password.

2. Through the app. You do not need to sign in to the app. (See No. 5, “How do I subscribe to Nikkei Asia through the app?”)


Please note that you can also log in to the website after creating a website ID on the app. (See No. 8, “After purchasing a subscription through the App Store or Google Play Store, how do I access the Nikkei Asia website on my PC and mobile devices?”)



4. I have a Digital Subscription to Nikkei Asia. How do I sign in to the app?


Open the app and tap "Account" where you will find a "Sign in" link. Enter your email address and password.



5. How do I subscribe to Nikkei Asia through the app?


Please take the following steps:

1. Upon opening the Nikkei Asia mobile app, tap "Account,” then "Subscribe."

2. Choose a monthly or annual subscription.

3. Payments will be charged to your App Store/Google Play Store account.

4. If you want to access the Nikkei Asia website, click “Link subscription” in the pop-up window.

*If you do not see the pop-up window, click “Create web account” on the "Account" page.

5. Click "I don't have an account" at the bottom of the page.

*If you already have a Nikkei Asia account, please log in with your email address and password.

6. Enter your information and click "Sign Up."

7. "Subscription successfully linked" message will appear.


Your subscription will be renewed automatically at the end of your subscription period, by default. You will be able to cancel the automatic renewal at any time from your App Store/Google Play Store account settings page.



6. How do I change or cancel my subscription, if I signed up through the app?


Subscriptions purchased through the App Store/Google Play Store can be managed via the respective links:

-- iOS Change/Cancel

-- Android


You can also manage your subscription with the Nikkei Asia app. Open the app, tap the "Account" button, then click "Manage Subscription" to change or cancel your subscription.



7. What should I do after I get a subscription through the App Store/Google Play Store, but cannot access the Nikkei Asia content?


Verify the purchase of your subscription on your device by navigating to the "Account" page, followed by "Sign in" and "Restore." You should be able to access Nikkei Asia's content after completing the restoration. If the problem persists, please contact us here.



8. After purchasing a subscription through the App Store or Google Play Store, how do I access the Nikkei Asia website on my PC and mobile devices?


The Nikkei Asia app is designed to work with iOS and Android devices. In the Nikkei Asia app, go to the "Account" page and tap "Create your account." to create a website ID. Then fill in the information and confirm registration details. After submission, you can sign in to Nikkei Asia website on all your devices.



9. Why should I allow notifications?


When you allow notifications we can automatically send you important news and information pertinent to the app or your Nikkei Asia subscription, for example, new features, upcoming events or service messages.



10. How do I configure the push notifications on iOS and Android devices?


Please follow the instructions below.


iOS

1. Open the "Settings" app.

2. Tap "Notifications."

3. Find the Nikkei Asia app.

4. Configure your settings.


Android

1. On your Android device, tap "Settings" > "Notifications."

2. Tap the Nikkei Asia app.

3. Select or clear the check box next to "Allow notifications" to enable or disable push notifications.



11. How do I search for articles on the app?


Tap the "Search" button and input a keyword. You can sort search results by relevance or recency.



12. How can I read offline?


Open your app when your device has access to the internet. Your app will automatically download the latest stories so you can read them offline.



13. How do I personalize my timelines?


Please take the following steps:

1. Open the app and tap the “Account” button.

2. Tap "Edit timelines" and select the timelines you want to see.

3. Rearrange your timelines by holding the button on the right side of timelines and dragging them into your desired order.



14. Where can I find my saved articles?


Please take the following steps:

1. Open the app and tap the “Account” button.

2. Tap "My saved articles" to view your saved articles.

3. Unselect the save button on articles to remove them from your list.



15. How do I turn on dark mode on the app?


Please take the following steps:

1. Open the app and tap the “Account” button.

2. Select Dark. (Select System, to sync with your device settings.)



16. How do I share articles?


Click the “Share” button on the top right corner of an article.
